What this tells a founder
In West Bengal, the highest-spending fifth of urban households spent ₹327 per person a month on personal care in 2023-24, up from ₹275 in 2022-23. That is below the all-India figure for the same group in both rounds (₹366 and ₹330). The lowest-spending 40% of urban households spent ₹116, and in rural West Bengal the highest-spending fifth spent ₹155, less than half the urban figure. These are averages for income groups, so they should not be read as the state's whole market.
