What this tells a founder
The highest-spending fifth of urban households in Maharashtra spent ₹386 per person a month on personal care in 2023-24, against ₹339 in 2022-23. That is a little above the all-India figure for the same group in both rounds (₹366 and ₹330). The lowest-spending 40% of urban households spent ₹152, and in rural Maharashtra the highest-spending fifth spent ₹163. These are averages for income groups: they show what a household in each group spends per person, not how many households there are.
