What this tells a founder
In Gujarat, the highest-spending fifth of urban households spent ₹388 per person a month on personal care in 2023-24 and ₹353 in 2022-23, above the all-India figure for the same group in both rounds (₹366 and ₹330). In rural Gujarat the highest-spending fifth spent ₹169, well under half the urban figure. Read these as what one household in each group spends per person, not as the state's total.
